Cal Hosts New Adult Field Hockey Tournament This Winter
Cal Sports Camps recently announced the addition of a new winter adult field hockey tournament, which will take place at UC Berkeley’s Bay Area campus, organized by Cal Assistant Coach Austin Pile.
Austin Pile just finished up his 5th season as the assistant coach for the Cal Bears field hockey team and directs the youth field hockey camps at UC Berkeley, as well as the popular adult and youth Cal field hockey clinics that take place in the Spring and Fall each year. With the addition of the new tournament, adult field hockey teams will have a new opportunity to compete against each other in a fun and structured environment with expert instruction.
"We look forward to hosting a great social tournament for adults. There are few opportunities out there for adults to play and compete, and even less to play on a turf field,” says Cal Assistant Coach Austin Pile. “We hope this will be the first year of a great event that people can put on their calendars and look forward to playing in for years to come.”
This two-day winter tournament will consist of eight co-ed teams, each playing a total of five games. While playing under the lights at state-of-the-art Underhill Field on the UC Berkley campus players will not only receive instruction from a well-seasoned coach, but also engage in full sided game experiences as well.
